Daylight privacy notice
Updated October 13, 2026.
Daylight stores your preferences, optional name, shortcuts, daily notes, photo and weather location in your browser profile. It has no developer-operated server, analytics or advertising.
External services
- Weather uses Chrome location services. Coordinates rounded to two decimal places are sent to Open-Meteo. City searches send the entered text to Open-Meteo. You can select a city manually or hide weather. Requests already underway may finish after weather is hidden.
- Google's favicon service receives the origin of each visible shortcut website, excluding its path and query.
- Normal search uses Chrome's configured provider. Explicit Lens, Lucky and AI Mode actions open Google. Voice search may process microphone audio through Chrome's remote speech-recognition service, then sends recognized text to the selected search provider.
- Selecting or dropping an image sends it directly to Google Lens. Image links are also sent to Lens. Daylight does not retain image-search uploads.
- The coffee button opens PayPal. Daylight does not receive payment details or record donations.
Providers receive standard network information such as IP addresses. Their privacy policies govern these requests.
Your controls
Formatted daily notes are temporarily saved locally to share them across tabs and browser restarts. They reset at local midnight while open or on reopening/resuming after midnight. Notes are not sent to a server. Use Copy before midnight to keep them elsewhere.
Change or remove shortcuts and photos in settings. Revert to default preserves shortcuts and current daily notes. To remove all stored data, clear the extension-page site storage through Chrome. Browser microphone and location controls also apply.
